adults. Kids tend not to really get the concept of card tricks and will usually figure out the trick because they look at it as what it is and not what it seems to be. So just use this for adults. However, I wouldn't recommend a pure card show unless you're stinkin' awesome, which you may be. So if you are go for it, else work on it then go for it

Depends what kind of card trick. Six-Card-Repeat, yes, ACR, no.

I find kids get bored with card tricks, unless they have a really big ending or something cute about them.

They have trouble remember a cards, so if you do them, just do them to impress the parents who are signing the check and sitting at the back of the room.

Then move on to something silly.

The main problem is that many, actually most, kids don't know the difference between different cards. Until recently, poker and other card games weren't that big. Now, that's a different story completely, but the kids still don't care. I've asked kids to name a card. Then I have to run through the numbers and the suits individually to get the to remember one.

i did a kid show, and as a closer i did nemesis and color monte. THey wer e abut 7 years old aveerage. Most of them understood nemesis, cuz it was so visual. And they got the ending of color monte, cuz they never saw a 14$ card like that during the trick. Even if they dont get it, its one or two tricks, and parents will be watchign as well. Id say after you get abouve 12 yrs old, then you can do more cards

Visual is good and that's the only card magic you should do for kids. An ACR would probably be fine because they sign the card and are only looking for their name.

I find if I do a card trick for kids, I just take a moment to tell them the different symbols. "Now look, these are called spades, these are clubs...."

And if I force a card I try to force something like a 2 or 3 of hearts. Something easy for them to remember. Never face cards.

Cards dont go well with the kiddies! However, if you are into close-up magic, you can be creative and make it interesting for them.

Bill Abbott has a dvd out that shows some audience tested close-up magic for kids. You can do this as walkaround at children magic parties or at adult parties that need someone to occupy the kids for a while.

I think its creative! :)

I tried performing cards today for kids to see how it goes and the best reaction I've gotten is: "What magic kit did you buy?" try something with ordinary objects

Card tricks are tricky with kids...

Close-up magic with objects on the other hand can be prove successful.

After all, nothing beats the old fashioned coin out of the ear effect! :)
