I am in the final stages of putting my second magic show together. The show has lots of visual magic as well as lots of comedy. In my opinion, its going to be a great show, but is it ok that I only use 1 helper for one of my tricks?

They don't have to physically be involved as long as you can make them feel involved.

There are many ways to get the audience involved without bringing someone up on stage! For example: clapping their hands, laughing, saying the magic words and waving their hands for the magic to happen, ect.

All those things make them feel involved and work just as good as actually bringing them up on stage!

Michael is correct, but I think you need a little more help on stage from the audience. The more "helpers" from the crowd, the better!

The closer you can get even one kid to the magic, the more amazing it will be. Audience participation is the key to a successful childrens magic career. I see the pros with up to 6 kids at a time helping them out.

I try to get at least one or more helpers for every trick. You should have the rest of the kids help you in some other way. Repeat the magic words while wiggling their fingers etc.
Keep them busy and involved.
Bring them up and back with applause, ask them some questions when they come up..name & age.
When they say their age six-seven(whatever), you can pretend to misunderstand them and Say " AMAZING! sixty years old, doesn't look a day over seven." The kids will correct you quickly and with laughter. Or if they say six you hear 'sick'
and you ask if there is a Doctor in the house your helper is sick. That gets a quick reaction. Always have fun with them but at your expense.
