you should get some royalty free music off the internet, otherwise you could get arrested for using popular music.

You're right and you're wrong. Yes you COULD get in trouble, BUT the people who would potentially be responsible for arresting you aren't worried about teenagers performing at birthdays for a few extra bucks.
