i use a black tool kit. it has all the little compartment that i need.

i know of other peolpe that use briefcases and i know other people that get that professional box (i don't know the name of it) they are something like $250 and they have wheels and you can use the top of them as a table.

hope this helps.

I use a suitcase table and a trunk.

Both serve as tables for me. I also have an 8 foot backdrop and a sound system. The suitcase table is a trunk that folds out into a table and allows you to put stuff in it to use or discard during performance...plus it has wheels so it is easily manueverble!

When I started, I used two TV dinner tables and a black table cloth over each. I set props on top and underneath them. Then when I got enough money, I bought my first suitcase table at a local magic auction for $100. It wasn't the best but it served its purpose! Eventually, when that one wore down, my dad helped me build another which is the nicest one I along with several dealers have ever layed our eyes upon.

Another great table to use is the fold down plastic tables available at Sam's Club stores. They are abou$15-$20 each but they last a LONG time...

TV dinner tables will run you about $3- $5 each.

I use a customized table with removable legs. All of my props go into the table (with the exception of my chair suspension). When I get to the venue, I pop the legs on the table, pull out my props and I'm ready to go. At the end of the show, everything is back in the table and I'm gone.

I work out of a large, brightly colored, plastic tote, sitting on a restaurant tray stand. It's cheap and very light. You won't have to crouch out of sight, just to get a prop.

I too built my own suitcase table. Before that I used a steamer trunk put on a fold out stand with a tv dinner fold out table. I put velcro on the tv table and put my banner on the front and colorful material on the sides.
The steamer trunk holds about everything you have and you take it out and put it on the Tv table.

I hate kid parties, but I end up doing them on ocassion for my friends kid, or anyone who is willing to pay me enough, heh.

I use small TV tray (Pretty much just as was stated above) with a cloth over the top to hold all my stuff, and a tipover trunk (Box) to put the stuff in when I am done with it. At the end of the show I can tip the trunk over and show it empty.

Darkside,
If you hate doing something then why do you do it?? cash. Pretty pathetic excuse. Kid shows aren't the easiest to do, that is why you don't like doing them I would guess. I can only imagine how bad your show's are.

Turning tricks for money is bad ... Turning tricks for money in front of little kids is DISGUSTING! Find a better motivating factor for your magic and quit prostituting the art.
