Tomorrow is my first kids with adults show and i will be performing for more than 30 people. This is my first gig ever. It is for a Jamboree where many magicians come and perform and each fill a 20 minute slot. I have a really good routine but i am starting to feel a little nervous...and i am admiting it. what should i do? most of the people are other magicians and i know they are going to give me costructive advice. i'm sure it will be a good experience but its the night before and i'm very confedent about my self. any suggestions on how to get my butterflies away?

the only reason you get scared/nervous is you hype yourself into thinking something is going to be bad. like a little kid will hype himself about new things such as a big roller coaster, but after he goes once, he is over that.

Don't start second guessing your routine. You already said it's a good one, and you have practiced it enough to feel confident about it. Don't mess with it at this late stage.

Remember, no one knows your routine as well as you do. You are not there to show off or impress anyone. Your job is simple - perform the routine and make sure everyone has fun while you are doing it (including yourself). Keep that in mind and you'll do fine.

Good job, that first trick is always the hardest. I remember my first time...it was a close-up magic show where we had to go around tables and perform tricks with an audience. I about fell over before it even started. Props to you!

yes, i am 17 years old and most of the other magicians there were 30-60 years old and after my performance (which had a major twist at the end of it...and i mean a MAJOR TWIST , that i made up) got me soooo much respect from everyone there. i can't even explain it.

Congrats, I hat getting the butterflys. One time in didnt even have a chance for them though. I was just showing my friend a trick I was working on and almost 15 people start walking up and I got all freaked out because I didnt have anything ready or planned. Luckaly I did a little ambitious card rutine and some TT action and it all worked out good
