I have a show in a few months for about 400 people. Mostly children ages 3-10. The show is going to be 20-30 minutes long, and will have clowns performing before and after it. I'm not exactly sure what tricks to do, or any other details. (Handing out business cards after, etc.)

So far my routine is:

Coming out on stage, starting to say Hello, and then looking up, commenting that something looks dangerous, taking a paper bag and a plastic straw out, blowing into the straw, and a bowling ball falls out of the bottom of the bag.

--
Not sure, maybe D'Lites and say something like "Have you ever been scared? Well, these lights scare me, and slowly take make one of the lights appear.

--
Here is where I'm not sure.

--
Final: Big box (5.5ft x 2ft x 3ft and 3 ft off the ground) wheeled on stage, spun around, all sides folded down, spun around, closed up, covered, then uncovered, front flipped open, with my assistant inside.

Any help/tips/comments would be great. Thanks so much.

That sounds good to me, not much else you could squeze in to a 20min show. I would stick with that.

How does the envoirment look like?
I mean, Is it a Circus,
Is it in a big room, or...?
If It's in a circus you can always hand them (the businnes cards) out after the show, just standing there and dealing them out.
About the tricks, the first trick, wouldn't be cool if you pulled a 8 foot appearing straw out instead of the little ordanary straw.
And, I was thinking coloring book, but there's no way everybody's gonna see what you're doing.
But, The thing you have there looks kinda good.
I really like to hear how the show went, keep us updated even though it's in a couple of months.

It's in an auditorium, on a stage, with the people sitting in front in chairs.

Code:

Somewhat like that.

Ahh..Okay, is it a school? Or is it
Something with parents, cause you can't really hand out buisinness cards to kids.
But if it's a school, maybe you can, in some way deal them out for the teachers, When you talk to any adults just give them your card :]
I mean, It have to be some situation when you're talking with them, when they pay you for example.
By the way,
just of curiousity, How much are they paying you? Just wondering, I Like seeing what people earn lol...

I guess I wasn't very clear, sorry.

It is at a school, the school I go to. It's a "clown carnival" with my magic act near the middle. There will be a lot of children, all of them with their parents there.

As for payment, I am not getting payed. I am part of the clown toupe, and they asked me if I would do this. I probably could get some payment for props if I needed too.

Lots of color. Kids love colorful, flashy things. Stay away from fire, you may have a little arsonist in the audience and it'll come back to you playing with fire. No cards, they won't understand them.

If you produce a rabbit or any other animal for little kids, it better be the last thing you're wanting to do, because if it's not, it will be.

Well, I don't really have access to any animals, but I could and probably will do something with a lot of colors. Something with silks, most likely.

It doesn't appear as if you have any patter what's so ever. If you think the magic alone will entertain them you are in for a rude awakening. I'd be doing lots of reading and practicing.

...what do you mean? I have a lot of patter that I'm going to do. I also have a type of "announcer" that I can use if I want him to help.
