THE FOLLOWING IS VERY THEORETICAL AND IN MY MIND IS A WELL THOUGHT OUT HYPOTHESIS. BUT LIKE MOST GREAT HYPOTHESIS'S WORLD FLAT ECT. IT MAY BE FALSE I SIMPLY WANT TO START A DISCUSSION ON THE LINKS BETWEEN NEURO CHEMICAL IMPULSES AND MAGIC.
A basic course in Medical Biology is assumed.
One knows that emotions are 90 percent Chemical and 10 percent
logical. This being said I believe people have too much invested in
CERTAIN aspects of magic.
When someone wants somthing and they get it. It creates a "want and
recieve" brain pathway. This pathway will release chemicals that trigger a
want for more of said desired thing. Anything that is related to "said
Pathway" will also form its own pathway. This makes the brain suceptible
to influence from others that overides logic.I believe because many
teenage boys are the ones who go into magic the plasticity of the brain
causes these pathways to form much easier than a full grown adult.
Although David Blaine(Chriss Angel) may have amazed you with one trick
it does NOT mean everything about them is surefire 100% good. At this
point the brain has already created a David Blane= Good pathway. I
admit I have these pathways within my skull right now. They are not as
strong due to the years of practice and performing. Although logically I
know that DB (definitly) and CA(not so much) are not very good I can still
when I watch the original street magic special feel a nestalgic Neron
surging to life.
What I am trying to get at is that if you want to be a better magician
then let go of old pathways and find the course to the right ones that will
lead you down the path of least resistance.
I will post a Neuro bio chem for dummies translation in a couple of hours.
