Jim Gaffigan (comedian) had a joke about people who compare books to movies. I like what he says about it "you know what enjoyed about the movie? NO READING! Only took 2 hours and then I could take a nap"
thats definitely my type. Not to say books are bad in anyway. I just don't enjoy reading, but will read if need be (like school.... >_<)
anyhow i didnt read completely the whole essay, but it looked good for whatever much i read.
The difference between magic books and DVD's though is a DVD will teach you four to eight tricks.
A book will teach you 90 to 100 on average.
A book isn't much more than a DVD. Do the math and find which saves you money.
I suppose it's like they say: "want to know how to hide a magic trick from a magician? put it in a book"
lol dont worry, reading my science book is the only reason i'm doing good in my class. she's the worst teacher i've ever met in my 2 years of college. I'm not worried about books being more contentful (magic wise), I just dont enjoy reading. There are exceptions, like theories or presentations, etc. Thats fine.
I tried it at some point in my time, it's difficult, but possible. I was just fortunate to have a mentor who demonstrated it in person.
I also tried to read The Prestige... not working out.
