Sylvester the Jester





Dan Sylvester (AKA Sylvester the Jester), aged 44 has one of the most original Acts in Magic today. However, Dan started his performace career as a Clown. His influences are many, including Doug Henning, David Copperfied, Mac King and Daffy Duck.

Dan started thinking about his Cartoon act when thinking about the differences between Magicians and Clowns. Then Dan changed his act, firstly to a Wizard, but then decided to make himself a real life cartoon. He changed his image, and created new effects that suited his new look. The first (cartoon) effects he created were the anvil from Hat, and sledge hammer from the air. He then started putting sound effects into his act. Then after a while, he started creating effects that screamed that he was a cartoon (like the smoke from ears and the eye balls from binoculars). Dan now controls all of the sound effects he uses from his Jacket that he designed himself.
