Often times as men in a male dominated industry we forget about some of the great women who have come before us. Let us remember one of them, The Lulu 'Georgia Magnet' Hurst :

Lulu Hurst had many names The Georgia Magnet, The Electric Girl, The Georgia Wonder. She was in her prime over four generations ago and made popular by an act that seemed to defy the laws of gravitation.

To quote the foreword in her biography:

"So wonderful were her performances described to be, that people made long pilgrimages to see her and to marvel. Not alone were the uneducated mystified, but even those who pass for people of more than ordinary intelligence came away from her seances convinced with the idea that she was possessed of some inexplicable power, unknown to mortals of ordinary mold. Scientific men, while not sharing this belief in her occult or superhuman powers, were no less mystified.

Lulu could control gravity and neutralize force - or so it seemed. No one could budge her or lift any object she touched, unless she willed it. When Lulu held on end of a billiard cue, she could effortlessly pull or push a group of men holding the other end, no matter how hard they resisted. Objects would be drawn irresistibly to her when she held her hands over them, even those that would not be attracted to a magnet, such as a straw hat. "

My mentor Mac Digiz had a picture of her on his wall and told me she was a looker. I couldn't see it.. but he did. Perhaps he was attracted to her magnetic personality (Pardon the pun).I don't know much about her, as getting her book is hard to do.
