Heyo everyone!
I'll start things off by telling a story from last Wednesday Night at Wendy's! We always go there after out club, so there is always around 15-20 kids there. Just imagine it, we take over the Wendy's...kinda funny.
Anyway, I was performing a few tricks, and I placed my "Magician's Insurance" in my pocket that day. I picked it up a long time ago, but have never felt the need to perform it. So, I was just thinking if it came up and I could use it, I would.
So i started off with chicago opener. THen my next spectator picks a card. Luckily, there was lots of commotion at that point in time, I was able to see the mirror reflection off the window. I peeked the card, and guess what? It was my insurance card. So i said to her, "take the card, show it to everyone." I had another person cover my eyes. After that, I had another person shuffle the cards in the deck.
SOme good acting later, I was fake freaking out. Everyone started to laugh at me!

Which is the best time to whip out the insurance. I told them I have a backup, an insurance plan for wen things go wrong.
After the revelation, a HUGE response ensued. They were all screaming and laughing in amazement. Go figure, a $4 trick gets one of the best reactions of the night!
So, my lesson in writing this: it really isn't the trick, it's how it is presented. Seems simple enough, but for many, it is not.
Further thoughts: From now on, rather than carrying the bulky fold out insurance, I have created my own. I just typed on a piece of paper, cut it out and put it in my wallet. So, now wherever I go, I will always have my version of "insurance" on me.
Easy trick that has helped me out!
