By saying "air time" you make me think you believe that Mindfreak is aired live on Wednesday night. In fact, Angel and his crew tape individual segments over several weeks and edit the shows together well in advance. They may well complete the entire season before the first show of the season even airs on A&E. Note that the opening of every show, even the first show that aired this season, contains short clips from as yet unaired shows.

You would also be laboring under a false impression if you believed Angel had to create the effects. Many of the things he does are created by his team of advisers and much of it is standard magic that has been performed since before Criss Angel was born.
