The water went through a filtration processes, keeping it for the most part clean. Also, he had elimintated waste products from his body and fasted before he performed the stunt.

Well, if you've been training for 6 months with the best in the world to hold your breath for a long time while suffering from mal-nourishment then I bet he can do it, he would be used to those conditions. Some people just don't understand that the training he went through is the best and most harsh in the world.

darn, that's a long time! I still don't think it's possible to go 40 days without eating, after 10 your body would shut down. You can't even go more then a few days without water, or else you will dehydrate and die.

But as I said before, water or not, you can't go 40 days without eating, it's just not possible

Yep, like I said before, when you have trained for a long time then you can get your body and all of it's functions to be used to mal-nourishment, it wasn't a trick, it was for real, people could see him at anytime they wanted to, so they wouldn't be able to sneak anything in to him but water.
