Why do people get so upset when comparing these two? Why do we even compare them? They're both great in their own way. I think Blaine has some great card effects and Angel has some really cool illusions. At the same time, I'm not a fan of Blaine's endurance routines and I know that a lot of Angel's illusions look poor when seen in uncontrolled situations and that a lot of the reactions by his "audiences" are just silly since there is now way any half way intelligent person honestly freaks out and really thinks he pulled a woman in half. Both performers have plusses and minuses to their acts, pretty much like everyone else.
On another note, I'm not sure why so many people want to know how their tricks are done (particularly Angel's). I mean the tricks/illusions are great and I'm simply interested to know how they're done for the sake of knowing, but it seems like a lot of people here think they are going to go performs these tricks at their... high school(?) or something and be very impromptu about it.
These tricks are generally VERY expensive and require an awful lot of setup, sometimes by teams of people. Often they involve glaringly obvious tricks that look awful if you were to see it on the street. On camera, or on stage, in controlled environments, they look great though.
