i've seen that a way to do it is to cut one card shorter, to the top of the number or letter, and put it anywhere in the deck. Upon flipping through, the people will see the card AFTER the short card for a split second longer. Then you control the card to the top, DL, showing that the "top card" is not their card, but a wild card. Then you do the snap change, which I learned by (this sounds dumb, but i did it, it looked so cool) watching that trick in slow motion on my tivo, one frame at a time. you can see he slides the card the camera sees behind the right card while snapping, so there it is. Next time its on, try recording it or something.
