Is it just me or is this guy becoming too big too fast? He has a tv show, just signed a movie deal, will be hosting a reality show, and will have a las vegas show with cirque du solie.

Anyone else think he will burn out or that people will just become sick of him? I've always thought it was better to leave people wanting more no matter what you do. If something is shoved down your throat you will eventually throw up.

I hear him say one sentence and I change the channel. The man's voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I think magicians were sick of him as soon as he got his own show.
As far as laypeople go...
I think eventually people will stop liking him, but right now he's really popular.

Criss is ok but has NO presentation skills. What I want to see is more David Blaine... that guy was phenomenal.

I think it is hilarious that Criss says that he is "the best in the world." The best at what? Using cutshots, camera editing, and stooges while wearing ridiculous biker attire, and possessing a bad speech impediment? Without his consultants he would be even more of a joke then he is now. Having a TV show does not make you the best magician, or even entertainer in the world. In fact it seems that those who do magic the worst are actually the most successsful.

I'm a COMPLETE lay person when it comes to this stuff... but I'm blown away everytime I watch Criss' show. I just for the life of me cannot figure out how in the world he does things right in front of people like being ran over by a steam roller, levitating, and so on.

I know it's all just an illusion... can anyone shed some light on how he's doing some of that?

Thanks!!

I had a drunk get in my face at a bar Last Friday night. He said, "Can you do the stuff Criss Angel does? That guy is great".

I said I can do anything Criss Angel does, but I don't have my camera crew with me.

Instead of shutting up, he said, "Oh yeah, let's see you levitate right now".

I said I can only levitate out of doors. He walked outside and I stayed inside and never heard from him again.

I was actually more entertained by that thread than anything Angel ever did. Always nice to see official rules mabe by some teen mod who is still learning to spell.

This is JUST like Pirates of the Caribbean. The first issue was BRILLIANT and ORIGINAL and BEAUTIFUL, but now has become a CHEAP CORPORATE NOVELTY with the second and third.

I mean, don't get me wrong, his illusions are still massively incredible- it's just- the performances have lost their classic touch. They've become much worse. Along with the overall image of the show. It's become more fake and cheap.

That's the way I see it anyways.
