On September 5th David Blaine will enter and 7' x 7' x 3' plexiglas box over the thames river and remain there for 44 Days will no food but just water. all he will have is a set of clothes, a blanket, some diapers, and a journal or write in. Just thought you might like to know.

Wouldn't it get a little stinky in there after a few days of those diapers sitting around?

I suppose he's already trained himself to go without food for 43 days.

I'll be looking forward to a significant weight loss or near death when he comes out.

Beginner, I find it unlikely that he'd just make that up for the edited of it....as frijid pointed out lol, I also doubt Blaine can go 44 days without food...

You know...a plexiglass box? Is it sealed? I don't think he can hold his breath for 44 days. :P

This I'm waiting to see.

Check out the concept drawing in that article. It looks like it may have a bunch of holes cut into it.

According to that photo he has at least bulked up in anticipation of the weight loss....and he's chosen the right amount of days, which I doubt has anything to do with his birthday....read this and you'll see what I'm talking about...

Starvation

Symptoms and Signs
In adult volunteers who fasted for 30 to 40 days, weight loss was marked (25% of initial weight), metabolic rate decreased, and the rate and amount of tissue protein breakdown decreased by about 30%. In more prolonged starvation, weight loss may reach 50% in adults and possibly more in children. Loss of organ weight is greatest in the liver and intestine, moderate in the heart and kidneys, and least in the nervous system. Emaciation is most obvious in areas where prominent fat depots normally exist. Muscle mass shrinks and bones protrude. The skin becomes thin, dry, inelastic, pale, and cold. The hair is dry and sparse and falls out easily.

So maybe he'll be wearing a hairpiece when he comes out.

Not really much point to it, is there? Aside from Publicity of course. Look at me, I can do something many people have done before and what people have done because they have to?
