what if, in his weakened state, he falls ill and has a high fever? think he'll call it off and seek help, or try to rough it out? i wonder if it's against the rules to give him any medication.

with all the weight loss (assuming he survives), i'm thinking the next stunt he could do is see how many burgers he can eat straight for 43 days.
personally, i like the magic a whole lot better, he's obviously in it for the publicity, knowing that he has no special religious affiliation with extreme fasting.

It will be interesting to see i guess.

I don't understand it either. I thought he was supposed to be a magician but now he's leaning more toward stunts to get publicity.

I for one would enjoy him a lot more if he just stuck to his magic.

There's nothing magical about dangling from a cage for 44 days without food.

Oh well, maybe he's only in it for the money at this point!

I'm sure all magicians would rather see David Blaine do his card tricks. But for the common layperson, they want to believe he's the real thing. They want to believe that this man can do anything. That's why they aren't too impressed when he does something so trivial as find someone's card or make someone's chosen card appear turned over in a deck. So, the stunts get better ratings.. we're the minority here.

What do you mean jump? Won't he be under water?

Nevermind, my mistake. He'll be above water.

I thought he was going to be in a glass box dangling above the water.

He is, here's a quote from the site....

"Beginning Sept. 5, Mr. Blaine says, he will spend 44 days in a Plexiglas box, 7 feet long by 7 feet tall by 3 feet wide, suspended over the Thames River in London."

He'll be drinking a lot of water, where's he gonna urinate? In his Diapers? Who's gonna want to handle his urine soaked/crappy diapers he sends down???

Or is there a hole in the cage where he can just pee/squat into the river...

They'd better also send up a bunch of toilet paper....

This stunt gets sillier and sillier the more I think about it!

C'mon Blaine...give us a break, you can think up something better than this! Or, maybe you can't!

lol frijid magicians want to see blaine do some more street magic or somethhing I guess but i guess normal people want to see him do something crazy, i already know blaine can do this, and obviously they will have his health monitored so they will take him out if hes about to shrivel up and die, in his book he states that he wants to take human limitations to the limit as "never before" or something like that i guess hes going to,,, in 50 years edited probably be remembered like we remember houdini (popular but in my opinion not the best) but its the most familiar magician with them nonmagic folk...

He has a cathader do he can pee whenever he likes. About the diaper, if hes only drinking water, and had a laxative before he started he shouldnt poop often. Probly once every 3 days.
