i didnt hear much about David Blain ( i'm more interested in copperfield) anyway, i have no idea why this guy is doing such crazy things.... cut off his ears ( dunno if it's real or not) and starve for 40 days <----- actually that aint even magic, an Indian man could live without eating nothing for like few months (i saw on the news)... Could someone bother to tell me why DB is doing this?

Here you can find out pretty much everything you want to know about David Blaine's new stunt "Above the Below" I am a Blaine fan and I have been keeping up with what is going on with him.

um i dont think so... i dont even know im wating time to answer this, but um hes a magician right. what did Houdini do...didnt he do stunts like these? an indian man can do it but what about no social contact for days... i think hes doing it for the love of it... and becuase he likes testing his endurance. i think your statement was a very ignorant one...

Rucusoner:

I hate to be the one who tells you this but Houdini did a lot of his stunts in tons of places to PROMOTE his shows....
So in essence houdini was doing it for the money too....Believe ME I don't think houdini and Blaine have much comparison beyond that....Completely different styles. But don't think for a second that there aren't alterior motives.....For any FAMOUS magician......

Going without food and social contact for 40 days or so has been done by many a mystic in times gone by, certain Monk sects do this even to this day, no food, only water and in solitude and meditation. As far as social contact he sees people, just can't talk with them. I know some ministers in my area that do a 30 day water fast each year in Jan. If you prep properly and have the right mental attitude it can be done. Albeit suspended in a box above a bridge is a little different.
