Well if you are new in this field then I suggest you start with a low rate and it is also nice idea to throw a few FREE shows to a quality audience to get the word out loud.

Value must be created before they know what you charge or they won't think you're worth much.

For example...we all know that David Blaine charges A LOT but nobody knows the exact amount. He built his value before we have called to ask his price and deliver his show. Value must be built before they call you and ask for price.
