Can I do this with english coins in anyway? it seems like a fun effect but I don't know how id do it with english money.

Yes, you can do the basic vanish with any coin or small hard object that you can place under the cap; this would include English coins. However one feature of the cap, which is used in other effects, does require you to use the special coins provided in the package or to buy some others from your favorite magic shop.

I don't think you are really exposing anything that anybody else reading this wouldn't know already. So yeah, all you will need are some shimmed coins, although, like I said earlier, you don't HAVE to use them for the basic vanish. And of course two shimmed coins are also included so you can get started right away.

There's just one thing that you need to take note of, which ought to be self-evident but I'm throwing it out here anyway: the coin has to be small enough to fit under your average water bottle cap. I'm not sure about the size of English coins, but in most cases you're usually limited to maybe 1-3 coins per currency type. Because one of the greatest part of the trick is the fact that you can use borrowed coins, you must have some way of bringing those specific coins into play without tipping your hand as to exactly what you're planning to do.
