The video honestly seems a bit more, imo, amateur-ish. You can tell from the video your performance is not, so I think you might want to consider a few things. Know that I am being a critic here only for the sake of being constructive.

First what I like, no effect is really shown (You show a little too much from "The card is in the box". You don't want to give away an ending THAT good). We only see mostly your audiences reactions, and they are great reactions on top of it. I especially liked the girls reaction to the sponge balls. Your target audience seems obvious (Teenagers and children's parties?).

Now for what I don't like. Your intro seems a bit cheezy. It seems more like I am being introduced to a possible friend than someone I want to hire for my kid's party. I sadly do not have any suggestions on ways to improve. The video transitions seem a bit blocky and should be smoothed out a little more.

Hopefully these comments give you the insight you want.

I think it was great in the middle, but the beginning, end, and transition thing to the end were kind of off. I think the special effects could be tweaked a little and the way you talked seemed very scripted and unnatural. The performance part was good - but that can be overshadowed by a sense of amateurishness if your first or last impression says just that. I would try if possible to re-shoot the beginning and end and work to try and make them seem more natural and smooth along with the effects added to that footage.

If I were you I would get rid of the whole green screen effects in the beginning and end. It just seemed cheesy and didn't give off a "professional vibe." If you are going to do some sort of green screen type effect, however, I would go with a still background and back up from the camera so your appearance doesn't seem so overwhelming.

I think I would wear something more memorable/professional than a black T-shirt as well. Try to match what you look like on your business card, because at the moment you look very different, which sends mixed messages to the people watching it.

Pretty much what was said...the intro/end reminded me of a K-tel or Ronco ad from the 70's.

I quiet liked it. But I agree with the others: beginning could be changed for something with the still background. And I also think, it would be nice to see some magic in action, as it's your promo :)

I'm more concerned with your outfit than anything....is that what you normally wear for shows?...Shorts and T-Shirt?

I can see a T-shirt being okay with the vest or a coat, but I'd definitely ditch the shorts and at least wear some blue jeans or dress pants...just my own personal, professional, opinion.

In many people's eyes, shorts are viewed as unprofessional and un-serious. Sure, it may be the "character" you portray or whatever, but it doesn't look good to the person that booked you. I have a friend that owns a very successful tax collection company and he was pitching a presentation to a new potential client (which would have been a great business expansion), but he was asked to leave before he even started his presentation because he was wearing shorts. People who wear shorts are not taken seriously...please consider that for your own career's sake...

I would have to disagree on that point. It seems as if spectators reactions to the magic typically sells better than the magic itself. The potential client wants to feel as the people in the video do, therefore they hire you.

Besides, showing your magic in a promo is kinda like spoiling the end to a movie. You only want to show just enough to make your audience curious and not give away any plots or conclusions. But I'd have to agree, your audience reaction is ten times more important.
