At every magic shop (virtual and not) I've ever been to, double blank cards are roughly twice the price as a normal deck of cards. I find this ironic that all they have to do is not print ink on the cards (which would seemingly save money) yet they are more expensive. Anybody know why this is? Just something that made me curious.

probally because of economy of scale. Its cheaper to produce things in larger units than smaller units.

Maybe because it's "rare". When there is demand for something with little supply, it creates higher cost. Just a guess. :?:

It is like in gasoline, first you have to put the lead in then take it out again for unleaded. So, just maybe, they have to print the card's and then remove the print !

LOL

In addition to the lower demand for blank decks it's also what is called a niche (nitch) market and they know certain people are willing to pay more.

Another product with a similar scenario is milk. Regular milk costs more than low fat and no fat milk because there is a bigger demand for the low and no fat varieties although not nearly the price difference as with playing cards.
