The old Salt Shaker effect is quite humorous and works well, when presented properly. However you must find context in the performance.

Saying your going to vanish the quarter with the Salt Shaker, and then vanish the Salt Shaker is all well and good, but what about the quarter?

Rework the method that you've read in the beginner's Magic Books and make it your own.
