So today I decided to head out to a mall near my house to perform some tricks. Aside from performing to friends I had never performed to the general public. I walked around asking people if they would like to see a trick, and eventually I got a crowd of about 15 people. I performed the 2 card monte trick where I switched the two black aces in their hand for the two red queens. This got a great reaction.
However, I took it one step forward and produced an Ice Tea beverage from my shoe. Using the bottled up routine, I had placed two duplicate black aces in the drink. I proceeded to pour the drink out until only the cards were visible. This produced an electrifying response from the spectators, one that I could only dream of when watching Youtube videos of "Dynamo."
After performing, I drove back home to get my dog. I tied a hat to my dog's head and I was ready to go.
I proceeded to do tricks for a few hours and ended up making $100. The tricks I did included 2 card monte, Voodoo Ash, Ambitious Card and for fun and made spectators credit cards fly using ITR. (Although I still need to work on this)
All in all, it was a great day, and despite my nervousness to go out and finally perform, my first time was magical and I plan to go out more now that I have built some confidence.
