The head of the General Services Administration just resigned over a spending scandal involving a conference the GSA had outside of Las Vegas. But the news lead here (in Washington, DC) was the $3,200 spent for a "mind reader" at the conference. Does anybody know who the lucky mentalist was? I hope that it was one of the Penguin favorites who landed that lucrative gig.

I'm guessing that it wasn't Kreskin, or they would have named him in the news story. Richard Osterlind perhaps?

Fox News did a lengthy piece on this. The reporter knew enough to say something along the lines of, "Although earlier reports cited the $3,200 mind reader, they prefer to be called mentalists."

But she didn't identify the talent. My money is still on Osterlind, as I can't think of any others besides Kreskin who could command that for a gig that doesn't have a lot of high-production-value illusions.

Benji Bruce....? He booked a 4k gig a few days ago.

It's apparently a guy named Bob Garner. I've never heard of him, but the Washington Post has a pretty thorough article here:
