Whats a close up pad? Is it the pad where you spread cards on?

Yes. It's intended to be used on a table in front of a close up performer to do tricks on. The soft texture of it makes it easier to pick up coins and cards, etc. It also serves as a little "stage" to show off your magic apparatus. An indespensible tool for the close up magician.

Uhhh. Yeah. If you get one it is very useful. Whatever you do be careful what kind you get. Many of them will wrinkle fray and wear. I bought one that doesn't.
