I've made some of my own gimmicked cards. Don't cut the cards with scissors, cut them with a new razor blade or better yet an exacto knife. The cleaner the cut, the better. Don't use rubber cement. The stickyness of it attracts dirt and dust. Use a clear glue, super glue works good. If you're cutting a number card in half, expect there to be a "line" at the joint (face cards don't show as bad). Touch up the joint with a very small amount of White-out. From a short distance the card will be almost undectable. I've used many of my own gimmicked cards made this way. Just don't give your spectators a close look at the gimmicked card and keep the card in motion.
