What is the best card trick you have in terms of reaction and how easy it is to do...I'm really thinking about buying brainwave, hollow, or Mental Photography Deck....keep in mind that I'm extremely new to magic so anything that requires slieght hand tricks will take me FOREVER to learn...THANKS IN ADVANCE!

The biggest reactions I've received came from packet tricks like Twisted Sisters and NFW which both require an Elmsley count if done correctly. However you can do Twisted Sisters without. If you're looking for no sleight of hand, I would go with a Svengali Deck, Mental Photography Deck, or a Mirage Deck(which is a svengali deck with an added bonus.) Also if you're looking for a trick that will make you look like an expert with very little practice, and a normal deck, you should look into The Drunken Shuffle....very easy to learn ace production. You can find that on Larry Anderson's Jaw Droppers "cards, cards, cards" I bought the whole set of these videos years ago and I still use some of the effects on there. They are definitely for the beginner magician, but the basic concepts for all types of magic are taught. It's a good place to start. I hope that helps!! Peace!!! **Slash**

I noticed you said a sleight of hand card trick would take you forever to do but you didn't say you weren't willing to do it. My advice? I'm not sure if they have it here on Penguin but you can find it elsewhere if not here. Get the video "Michael Ammar's easy to master card miracles" prefferably volume 1. It's not that complicated, and gives you a bunch of great sleight of hand card tricks. If you reeeally dont want to do any work in learning sleights then get a stripper deck and the video or book for it. It's easy to use, examinable and gives you some pretty straight to the point cool tricks.

I second Now You See It Now You Don't. It certainly is a great book! Teaches a lot of easy sleights, but also some more challenging ones as well. For a beginner definately get this.
