Why Are There No Famous Female Magicians?

Not everyone is interested in becoming famous however, for some it is merely a plus as I stated. Personally I would not mind fame in the inner magic circle, such as what Michael Ammar discussed during his interview on Magic Broadcast, but just as he stated he likes to keep his anonymity after he leaves the convention and ventures into the public. One could also ask, why isn't there more male secretaries?

I think that some jobs, or interests are genetically programmed into us by a certain percentage, and we tend to follow that programming, or other types of environmental conditioning/expectations imposed on us by society whether we are aware of it or not. It is always difficult to understand why others would not enjoy what we do personally, but that is the nature of the beast, and everything just does not have a feasible answer.

We are left to speculate, assume, and generate our own personal theories, then compare notes.

Yes, I believe I was the first to mention her on the forums, and have helped her achieve some of her fame here.

I am still waiting for her to pay me back though. :twisted:

Good save...I was starting to think nobody knew of any females....here are a few from the top of my head (and I know there are repeats)...

I have noticed that the famous females usually have the weakest routines. Not that they are any better or worse than their male counterparts, but nothing that I have seen from a female reaches out and says...wow that was cool. Maybe I just need a few more examples to change my mind.

After that Witch Burning episode in Salem, magic performed by females became very unpopular. This gave male magicians a few hundred years to completely dominate the profession.

do ppl not know bout Julianna Chen ? the only person thats mensioned n e thing was blid side. i thought she won a competition for the worlds greatest magician a while ago. she won it with her appearing cards thing where cards appear at her finger tips out of nowhere. ive always thought that she was pretty famous but i dunno maybe not.
