As long as the goldfish is the right size, any TT will work.

Get a king size TT, then go to Walmart and get the two smallest goldfish they have. Two goldfish and a small amount of water fit into mine. Have fun with that trick because its awsome.

Here's a tip:

Along with being prettier than goldfish, Bettas (Siamese Fighting Fish)are technically "air breathers."

As long as they're kept wet they can survive out of water (or in a TT) longer than a goldfish. Line the inside of your TT with a bit of paper towel or cotton and saturate it with water (tank water, not tap water) to keep the little guy happy. Okay, not exactly happy but alive longer.

A dead goldfish is NOT the way to make a good impressin.

There is actually a prop made for this purpose.

http://penguinmagic.com/specialorderproduct.php?ID=8420

You will need to make certain alterations for a practical goldfish production, and your sleight of hand will need to be decent to avoid flashing the gimmick.

As Dave said, you'll need to apply paper towels to the inside of the gimmick to give the fish enough moisture to live. You can also go to your local craft store and buy self-adhesive foam that's mildly absorbent; this will serve the same purposes, but be more permanent.

Uh, okay. So, why don't you just put a pin and a rubber cap on a TT?

To the hardware store Batman!

This product comes with that very device (I own this trick) Directions or patter also don't come with this. Mainly the device and 2-3 pictures
It CAN NOT be reset easy..... Obviously... Not good for anything but a one time stage promo.. Don't think this would be cool to do at school, close up or resturants... Its just can't be done well... Maybe one time per night BUT that would be it. Then what would you do with this fish in the glass all night? Try and catch him and stick him back in?? HA

AND if that is what you want to do a one time stage thing with fish. I reccomend Fishkerchief.

thanks dinotech, yeah i thought it might be a bit impractical for obvious reasons but i thought there might be an easy way to reset it seeing as it was included on david stones dvd which specialises in walk around magic. Anyway thanks for the help, and the warning!

I bought this for the very same reason.... Now it sits in a box un used.

I bought this in hopes of going "over the top" in resturant magic and table hopping but I really couldn't figure a way to do it. (Scooping up that little guy and resetting) I like the advice of using the beta and will remember that. However. still doesn't solve the resetting. I can't see running to the bathroom everytime and lugging around a cup of water.

If anyone can figure out a table hopping application please PM me or post here.

Thanks,

For restaurant work get Jim Diamonds little fishy. It'sa bit cumbersome and you have to wear a jacket but it is easy to reset.

the fish bowl is relatively small. But I would get an Opaque silk it does not have to be big. The coin to fish bowl routine is very good. I caution you to be careful with it.
