Do you really need it or are you just wanting to copy Blaine?

It's no big deal. Any "card stab" will tell you what you want to know. Just exchange a dart for the knife and with some practice you can do it. You won't have the obvious editing advantage if you miss the dart board and sink it into the family dog.

Keep in mind Blaine had about 50 takes most likely to get it right. I think this particular effect is best done on "TV," and is not reliable enough to pull off consistently in the real world.

That had nothing to do with the accuracy of the throw. He almost missed the dart board though if I recall correctly.

i don't see why this would be so hard. i worked on a magic tv show locally here and we were going to do the same trick (before the special came on)... the guys i was working with practiced it and it worked perfectly... they wouldn't have wanted to do it if they couldn't land it every time. i'd say it's pretty practical for performing in this kind of venue.

even with the laws of aerodynamics working against you

Its here. Bullseye by Brent Braun this trick looks like what Blaine did but better. I saw this post months ago but insured Brent I would not talk till it was released.
