I am looking for an effect I remember from a decade or so ago. It was basically a snake in a can gag but it was built to resemble a large shotgun. I believe it can be seen on the first episode of Night Court and I remember it being sold.

Any help?

As always,
Dylan

I've been looking for this as well, also with no luck. I have a few leads, though. One source, which I beleive is not reliable, said it was called a Vigo Snake Gun, but the only occurance of Vigo Snake Gun appearing on all of the internet is when this guy told me it was called a Vigo Snake Gun. Me posting this will make two. I have a friend who has a friend who knows a guy who worked on Night Court and has given me the name of the prop company which worked the show. I just haven't take the next step yet. I happen to have Harry Anderson's email, but I feel weird bothering him about it, even if the email is still valid. Check back in with me in a month and I'll let you know what I have found.

School, work, partying. These things tend to tie ones life up, besides I needed a break from here.
I am now Sues-Chef (and part time performer) at a Bar and Grill and about to Graduate later this year with my second degree.

I do remember this episode. Have even been contemplating buying the dvds of the TV show. Was one of my favorite shows.

Good luck with finding the gun.

Well I might be meeting Harry next week so I will ask him if I do.

Stick around. We need you to help pull this place together.

No downer, when I saw that, I figured that is the 'other mentioning' you talked about. Just thought I would post the link for Dylan.
4500 seems kinda stiff for this kind of prop, thats what makes me think is not so on the up and up, that and the name brings nothing else up.

The best bet will be to ask Harry himself or prop man for the TV show. Though Harry seems the easier of the Two.

I do agree. I am no person to know about this but no production company would pay that much for a prop that would appear once in a pilot episode. Most pilots episodes crash so not much goes into them. I believe the one I saw in the catalog was $90 but that was some time ago...

P.S. I hear Harry is not that easy to get a hold of.

As always,
Dylan

I was able to find links to a Snake Gun here. You'll need to scroll down to see it:

http://goodmanmagic.com/Page4.html

Also here is the direct link to it's photo:

Contact info (link) is also provided on their Homepage. It seems that this shop is overseas, so I really do not know about it's reputation.

Best I could do...

I'm VERY impressed that you found this. It's a different gun then the one Harry uses on Night Court, though.
