This is one effect I would love to see Penguin sell. It looks good, I can tell how most of them are done but I'd like to learn it's subtleties and a more in-depth explaination.

I agree. Those are very cool. Like you said, most of them are easy to pick up on if you have any experience as a magician, but the subtle nuances in the performance made them look good. I just wish demo videos didn't play that obnoxious music in the background. I'd love to see a demo that showed the whole routine and then offered to teach it. I find it frustrating that we are expected to buy something without even knowing what exactly the routine is.

As a magician you should be creating your own routines.
I dont think you need to know the routine that comes with it, in order to buy it.
I rarely use the routine provided, if one is.

I could be wrong but I think hes referring to demos where all they do is show part of the effect and cut to a bunch of different scenes focusing mainly on transitions and visual effects. Thats why I love Sankeys Demos 'cause he shows you the entire effect from start to finish

You're probably right. But I still dont really feel the need for that. When I used to go to the old brick and mortor shop. All we had were books and effects sold with written instructions and none of those had no demos. So I guess Im used to not having demos, and dont need them.

I see what you mean. I don't have any shops near me so I have to rely on demos or performances I see online to help me decide if I buy an effect or not.

Very fair point about creating your own routines. I still stand by what I said though. I'd like to see a full performance of the effect before buying it, and not a small clip of someone doing a piece of it out of context.
