does any one have tips on not breaking loops

That's the big one. You have to stretch them before using them or they'll snap every time. Other than that, it all depends on the trick you're doing with them. For Haunted Packs, you need to make sure that you don't have too much of the pack on top of the loop, for moving utensils, you have to make sure the fork/knife isn't too heavy, etc.

I'd say that other than previously mentioned tips it is mostly experience. You will get a feel for objects that are to heavy and movements that put too much stress on the loop. I highly recomend the million dollar knot instant download. You wont worry so much about breaking a loop when you can tie together 60 or 70. Just remember that loops are meant for impromptu, light weight effects. More so than even standard IT.
