It was on the 9/1 a&e special where he reaches into his pocket pulls out change, then has a spectator call out a # between 1-100 and the exact # of change matches.?!

Personally thinking, this seems like a simple set up....too clean and impossible, can someone prove me wrong

Could be a simple mathematical thing (without going into too much detail) where coins of certain denominations are held out. But we can't be entirely sure.

Cosmo Solano is coming out with an effect like this. I haven't seen Criss Angel do it but it sounds like the same thing...so its not impossible.

Hey thanks Benji for the heads up.
I am releasing "pocket change" next week, been working on it for about 4 months, I have no idea what the Criss Angel thing is, didn't see it but will be searching for a clip.
The effect is this: a number between 50 cents and a dollar is named and instantly you pull all of the change in your pocket out, turn the pocket inside out too, to show that its all you have and they count it, it matches exactly.
Another version is the coins are in a coin purse and the spectator opens the purse, dumps it out.
I've been performing it for about 4 months now and posted a private video to only a few friends a couple of months ago. The video is a crude, quick demo so I haven't shown it publicly...

I had no idea Angel had a similar effect...
Can't wait to see it! If anyone knows of an online a clip please let me know!

Coz

hey all, just went to the a&e site, they have all episodes, watched the coin effect... WOW.
If it's legit I'm floored. My version is slightly different in presentation.
Hmmmm.

Yes it is a very amazing effect, so cosmo will you please send me a copy of your version, I am willing to purchase the effect. But the angel special is very clean and quite visual if anyone knows where I can purchase that version?

**update here is a link to a thread which reflects that the trick is probably staged,

It wouldn't be a difficult matter to study the numbers 1-100 most often named, and then use that amount of change.
All that remains is to try, try, and try again.

Note: The above is especially true when one has a camera crew and a lot of film / time.
