I believe it was the summer of 2001 when I bought this trick at FAO Shwarz in NY city. I think the manufacturer was Marvin's magic or something similar. The trick came with a brass/ gold color METAL "Pop" coaster, two steel small english pennies, one of which had a court card design glued to one side, and a magnetic card. The trick was simple, you hid the normal english penny under a quarter and placed it on the pop coaster so the penny was hidden in the divet and under the quarter. Then you placed a glass upside down on the coaster and placed the gimmicked penny on top of the glass. Then you covered it with the magnetic card and pressed down, causing the coaster to "pop". Both coins were then seen under the glass and the penny on top went away with the card and was perfectly disguised.
I have been looking for this trick for years. If anyone knows where I can find one please let me know. I have bought a cheap rip off and I have seen the plastic coin coasters but I want the real deal. Thanks.
