I am getting a late start on magic (31 years old). I bought the book "Mark Wilson's Cyclopedia of Magic" and am using it to begin the basics of card manipulations/sleights. While I learn these, I've also ordered Stripper and Brainwave Decks, Dime and Penny, and Astral Projection. Any ideas on where to go next? I do thoroughly enjoy practicing with a normal deck of card, but also want "immediate" tricks to entertain my family and students. Thanks for your help.

these are all great tricks that will get you going 1. scotch and soda -awesome coin trick with an almost impossible to find gimmick, so easy a six year old could do it (dime and penny's older brother, better gimmick) 2. svengalli deck-indespensible, over a hundred great effects that are easy as pie 3. twisted sisters- easy and awesome effect 4. nickels to dimes- painfully easy 5.SPONGE BALLS- one of my favorites (and i've bought alot of stuff here.) you should probably get the video or booklet with them though. 6.books or videos on sleights- these are the most important if your new to magic because most of the time if you know the advanced sleights you can figure out how those tv magicians do some of their stuff and then you can do it
