Anyone want to take bets on how many per week we're going to have of these topics? I've seen about 7 in the past week... on the exact same subject, with the exact same title. SEARCH, PEOPLE!

Hello Ming0! I have used all these thread reels before, but i would have to say the best one is the spider pen. Not only can you stand 25 feet from the floating object, its electric, so it lasts longer. The other reels all use rubberbands which can NOT be streched so that 25 feet of thread will come out.

I have also noticed that the search function seems to be of no help. Whenever I try searching, it basically comes up with the front page of whatever forum I am searching under. Some of the posts don't even display ANY relevence to what I searched.

Just thought you might like to know, you're not alone...

You need to realize that you may be confusing Micro reels with the Standard ITRs. Which are much larger in size.

The micros are for close-up. Not stage. So take that into account.

As for my personal favorite? For close-up work, I go with the Thread Boss. I've used inexpensive versions from other manufacturers, but you do get what you pay for. The Thread Boss is a much higher quality and you will not be having any difficulties with it.

If my choice were out of those three I would choose thread boss

If the Spider pen were controlled by bands that would be my number 1 choice since you can just clip the pen anywhere but I have had a ton of trouble with the batteries, etc... this is my least favorite reel :(

The Omega Reel would be the way to go if you need elastic thread but in my opinion I would probably save up for the Kevlar thread reel 2005 I am sure you will get a lot of mileage out of this one, the thread is both strong and works better under flourescent light as well.

Can the thread boss be strapped to your wrist or is it too big? I'm looking for an ITR to perform a certain HD variation...

If you purchase that particular HD variation, it will come with the special strap, as well as a Thread Boss. Well worth the investment to get the stuff you need, as well as being able to learn it properly.
