This sounds friggin' great Benji. I am going to sign up soon. Seeing as I know nothing about this I had a couple questions concerning when you sign up. Would you recommend for "type" everything, "how often" once a day and "volume" only best results?? Those are the defaults it has set already. I hope that made sense. I just want to pick the best options to help me get the leads I need. Thanks again for the method of finding out when and where events are happening.

Hey Benji, is there a way to do it to get only local events sent to you?

You can try something like "Colorado event calendar" or Colorado "event calendar"

When you put your state inside the quotes then it will only send you information that has those exact three words. And when you put your state outside the quotes then it should filter the results as well.

Hi Benji,

At the moment my magic just consists of busking, although I am eager to be paid to perform, the main reason for this is my age!

I am 14 and I obviously cannot perform at e.g. a corporal event, and I am wondering if there are any events you would recommend e.g. a restaurant gig, that I would be able to perform at or even would be better suited to a younger person, and is there a different approach a younger magician should take compared to others?

No matter what your age, a busker MUST be a better performer than any other venue artist. The stage and corporate boys do a show and get applause along with a check. His audience are there because they want to be and are prepared to be entertained. A Busker has to prove himself every 10 minutes. We have to stop disinterested, busy people with everyday worries going thru their heads, keep their interest and ENTERTAIN them.

I work all the venues and the hardest of them all is on the streets busking.

123Crampt....age doesn't matter...business is about branding. If you change the way you're perceived then you change everything around you. The hard part is to change the way you're perceived.

I never did busking and never will because they work to hard for little money. If you're good at busking then you should look into trade shows because it is similar (you build crowds).

You need to start increasing your perceived value right now. You might not get a $3,000 corporate gig in a month but you need to take small steps that will lead to big results.

You can get testimonial videos, dress in a suit, work on building a better website, work on persuasion techniques, your phone script etc. You will be working on tiny things every day and before you know it, you will easily get corporate gigs.

But if you're not doing something every day then you won't get into the corporate market. I can't stress this enough...if you're not doing something every day then you will not book gigs.

Send press releases to your local tv stations telling them that you're the youngest magician in town. And when you get on tv then use that for perceived value by putting it on your website, facebook, etc.

So your age doesn't mean anything....it is your value. If people saw you wearing suits, recognized you from tv, had to talk to an agent before getting through to you, etc then you can do corporate gigs.

Take a look at all the videos on the blog, take notes, and implement it.
