hey advice forum. i really need to read through this thing more. i might be able to do some good rather than just sitting at the computer.

ok so back on track. i'm looking for some fun sponge things. they can be sponge gimmicks. like sponge to cube. or bizarros color changing spongeballs. but they can be just weird fun sponge shapes. like sponge bunnies. or the sponge hot dog links... not the ding dong.

i was just trying to find a better climax to my sponge routine. the two in the hand one in the pocket bit sucks and i need something better. i was thinking about maybe just getting like a 5 incher and ending with that in their hand. but i want to get creative and be able to go for a different ending depending upon my different moods.

any thoughts you guys have on some cool sponge shapes, gimmicks, do-dads, are appreciated.

Tom Burgoon's Power Pick Pocket is really killer. It is a sponge wallet that looks pretty real from a short distance away. It is really meant to be a gag for when you have a volunteer on stage.

The way I've seen Burgoon do it is as a trick within a trick. You start some unrelated routine with a volunteer. The sponge wallet is palmed like a normal spongeball. You get the spectator turned one direction and involved with something, like inspecting a prop. Then you appear to pick his/her pocket by reaching behind them and removing what appears to be their wallet. You go through it and take out a bill and appear to secretly return the wallet.

After the routine is complete and the volunteer is heading back to their seat, you tell them you have a parting gift and hand them a one dollar bill. The audience thinks you are an amazing pick pocket and the spectator has received a "gift."

Jay Sankey's DVD "Earplugs" teaches a cool sponge routine with a round jumbo spongeball. You could check that out...It has a couple good routines on it actually.
