I am currently constructing an act and I want to put the Fantasio Vanishing Candle in it. I have one question: Can the candle be lit when it is vanished? I mean really lit not just looking like it's lit.

Thank you.

As far as I know, yes. It'll most likely go out during the "vanish" which is a good thing.

another clever tip...the vanishing candle can be used as an appearing candle as well...you can make it appear by doing it in reverse, and then make it vanish later if need be. I used to do this when I did a silent act.

no problem...had I known it before I learned it, I'd only have purchased vanishing candles.

However, I just want to point out that making a vanishing candle appear is NOT the same as the appearing candle.

As with the appearing candle you would not need any cover at all, it can instantly appear, where the vanishing candle vanishes without cover, but to make it appear, its not really instant compared to the real thing, and you need to do it by hand, and most likely under cover of a silk.

just fyi.

this is true...however, I've always found that it looks much more smooth and realistic to make even the appearing candles appear behind cover (a silk) and when the vanishing candle dissappears, it looks so much better to be done swiftly behind cover....and besides...if you have cover, then you're save if it should happen to catch when expanding (appearing), or contracting (vanishing)...which has been known to happen.
