Hi,

my name is Dan Berlin, I am for Germany and I am travelling around the world. I am now in Thailand and get some gigs for the high season (December - May). I want to improve and change my show a little bit and searching for inspiration.

I am searching for magic tricks which play big for big audiences for 50-200 people. So far I perform: rope trick, knife through jaket and cups and balls.
I don't do mentalism.

I am also searching for professional comedy magicians, I just know Gregory Wilson yet (This guy is awesome!!).

I am happy for any advice or a link to another threat I didn't find with the search option.

Thanks very much!

Dan Berlin

Well, it depends on if you want small scale stage effects that play large, or illusions.
and as for comedy magicians:

Tony Brent, great guy who i have met, and hilarious.
Nathan Kranzo is great,

Scott Francis, also great.

and, im blanking,

but Eric Buss is another i have seen, he's pretty funny.

EDIT:
ALMOST FORGOT SANKEY!

you gotta look up Jay Sankey!

I've seen Rune Klan do the cups and balls and then he realizes that they are too small for the audience to see. So instead he uses three GARBAGE CANS and three soccer balls. I think there might be a video of it on youtube.
Anyway, that would play huge!

An idea from that would be to to a close-up trick (coins, cards, anything small) and then do the same thing but with a BIGGER version. You know jumbo coins, jumbo decks...
Plus it would be very funny if you play it right.

On comedy magicians: David Regal, Jay Sankey...oh, how could I forget Jeff Hobson? That guy is REALLY funny! And one more- The Amazing Jonathan. That's all I got.

It's really not the effects themselves. It's all in the presentation. Take a look at Michael Finney's DVDS. Very entertaing material, and no big props, yet every one of the effects on the dvds can be done for any size audience.
