Hey, I like to do color changes when it comes to card magic, so I figured out how to do the snap change a while ago, and I have come to... both perfect it/not perfect it. I can do it sometimes, but sometimes I miss up.

Thats a video of me doing it, I think I did it fairly well, but is there any ways you see in my technique that I am doing wrong, that leads to me not always being able to do a perfect Snap change?

Definitely! You aren't terrible by any means, but there is a lot there to improve.

The biggest thing is the position of the fingers. You are only move it with one finger and a thumb, which is making that finger do ALL the work. Then the fingers shift positions as it "changes", which not only makes the card harder to hide (throughout all the motion of the fingers shifting positions) but also makes it look more like a "switch" than a "change".

Try holding the card with the index and middle finger at the very bottom left (or right, if you are right handed).

Hope that helps!

Honestly I had trouble with the Snap Change until I got By Forces Unseen. Earnest Earick just added a few subtleties that made it work for me 100% of the time. Check it out someday. He also has a real slick way to ditch the extra card.
