Hi guys. anyone seen cupwow from Sean Bogunia? looks amazing. I was actually about to buy a chop cup and work on a few things, but this new cup looks incredible. I've read that on the cafe that it might be a little gimmicky for strolling work, so I'm thinking maybe just a normal cup.

Also, I was going to pick up WGM on chop cup. any thoughts on this?

What is everyones thoughts on a decent cup. Some say that they get buy using a normal cup and a ** R***.

Hi Paddy, this is exactly why I want to get into the chop cup. Do you recommend any particular type of chop cup and what is a good resource for chop cup techniques, etc. or are they pretty much the same as normal C&B moves?

Paddy may have more info and sources, but basically C&B moves don't apply at all to Chop Cup. Sure, you can use a few if you like but the effect and handling is vastly different so you can't really equate one to the other.

If you want to get a good chop cup without breaking the bank, Morrissey Chop Cups from Canada are a good value. They come in regular and mini sizes. They're also available in aluminum and copper. Good quality at an affordable price. For the money, they're real workhorses that will last a long time. I personally have a Morrissey mini copper cup that I bought 25 years ago, and it's still looks and works just like brand new. Scroll down to the 4th item on the page.

If you'd like to invest in some real quality, RNT2 offers many different style chop cups in different metals and finishes. These cups are generally a lot heavier, as well as more expensive. They are also the choice of many working pros. With these cups you have to purchase the chop balls separately, which RNT2 offers many different styles and sizes.

As far as chop cups (or most other magic items for that matter) avoid the India stuff like the plaque! I'm sorry to say that most of the magic stuff that comes from there may be cheap in price, but the quality leaves much to be desired IMHO.

As for studies on the Chop Cup, the WGM Cop Cup DVD looks pretty good to me........must put that on my shopping list. Also, I understand that The Brad Burt DVD on the Chop Cup( http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=S7695) is excellent! I personally have not viewed this, but everyone I've spoken to that has, says nothing but good things about it. You may also want to check out Don Alan's work with the chop cup. too. Good stuff!

I would like to make the fowlowing statement, eh hem.

I AM NOT THE ONE WALKING AROUND WITH A SPONGE edit IN MY POCKET. As for paid experience, no I have none. I have been in situations that were near identical to strolling work minus payment (I was just doing it for fun). And I can say you this, my chop cup routine was rarely used and when it was it wasn't much enjoyed. But that's just my routine, it's probably because I'm not very good with it. I might pick it up one day but as of now chop cup is my least favorite and used device.

I've been doing a chop cup routine with a normal cup, a rolled up napkin and a tomato for about two years and it always gets awesome reactions.

Obviously, if you added this to your chop cup routine, people would enjoy it more

You might want to check out Mark Jenest's Jiggernaut. I'm not sure it's a chop cup or a straight C&B routine with a jigger but it has had some good reviews by people who got it specifically for strolling routines. It's something i have been eyeing for a long time.

It's awesome....Jiggernaut is.
