Hey can you guys direct me to a dvd that teaches a coins across routine with a shell? I want it to be inexpensive and as few tricks on the dvd as possible. I don't want a boat load of tricks. I just want to learn the coins across with a shell.

Thanks,

-Ari

L&L's World's Greatest Magic: Expanded Shells video has David Roth's handling, which is the best one, as far as I'm concerned. It's $20 and loaded with great material.

Johnson. Hands down. Low cost and a high return.

Johnson products are available on their own site.

...And John Kennedy's classic, Translocation also makes for an excellent consideration; http://www.johnkennedymagic.com/scripts ... product=99

Shells feel like cheating to me. Get Bobo's modern coin magic, learn the utility pass, and it'll fool 'em every time.

I know this isn't a shell routine but have you checked out Eric Jones's Mirage Et Trois? It is an ungaffed 3 Fly routine (along with a 3 coin production and 3 coin vanish). It looks incredible. It's very visual - eye candy visual. The coins disappear right in front of the spectators eyes with no closed-fisted coins across sequences and no classic palms. Coins across don't get much more magical and no shell - you finish clean. Looks hard but I've found it's not difficult if you have already mastered some very basic coin skills.

tbwendt, you are in deep trouble with my wife!! I figured I would just look at Eric Jones's Mirage Et Trois as you suggested. Well it was so good I bought it. She is already furious with me for adding more effects that cost money but some things are just worth the crap you gotta put up with. Thanks for suggesting that.

Tim, I received my Eric Jones DVD Yesterday and watched it after my restaurant show last night. I must say this is not a good routine. it is a FANTASTICALLY GREAT routine that is a true reputation maker!! The slights are simple and easy to master with minimal practice. The spectators response is excellent. So far I have only worked on the 3 coin production and have the moves down already! Another week and I'll be ready to perform all 3 effects in public. That's how easy it is to learn.

Good suggestion Tim and thanks!!

Paddy
