well, I don 't really see anything wrong using street magic.

sure, they are some special efects you can pick for parties.

sponge balls, bending silverware ..e.t.c. Kids magic effects work great for parties also.

Strolling magic at a dinner party is NOT street magic! Bending silverware in a dinner situation gets the hotel, or catering place really upset. Infact if they catch you bending some of their silverware, they WILL add a surcharge for the person who hired you to replace what you bent.

If that happens, your blacklisted. Yes I have been a working professtional magician longer than some of the moderators have been alive, so I have seen some really stupid things done.

If you do a card effect on the street, then it is 'Street Magic'...if you do the same card effect strolling during a formal party then it is 'Strolling Magic'. It is the venue, not the effect.

Granted, there are some 'Street' effects which would probably not be appropriate for a formal environment. Just use some common sense and you should be able to figure it out.
