i work at a restaurant at just north of downtown toronto. about 80% of the tricks i do are card based. i perform 2, 3 and 4 card monte, emerge triumphant, card form salt shaker, royale with cheese, etc. but im not sure if card from mouth [tip of the tongue] would be suitable at a restaurant setting. it's a great trick that gets amazing reactions. i perform it for many groups at school, on the streets, at parties, etc. but would it be good for a restaurant setting? you know since the customers are dealing with food and such, they may not want to see some guy barf out a card...then again it is a great effect.

One general rule, for sanitary reasons, don't pull anything from your mouth in a restaurant...

And for some restaurants, the same goes with putting anything in your mouth.

I agree for the most part.
I have done it on a few occations and recieved great reactions.
It all has to do with timing.
I even ask before I perform a trick like that just to be polite.

well you could. but just don't use the coughing and gagging part. but you need that to sell the effect, and without it theres no point in having it come from the mouth, you could have it come out of anywhere. So in agreement with the rest of the guys, its a no go.

you can spit it into a glass.
but i dont see why would you want to do it; this trick isn't the kind you do where people eat.
you can do folded card under the glass or paperclipped. it's a great ending. much better than "card in mouth".

You may also want to drop card from salt shaker. The restaurant I perform at requested that I stop performing this effect. because no one wanted to use that salt afterward.

Throw Ambitious card into your routine. With a card to wallet ending (works for me)

If a performer was performing tip of the tongue in a restaurant I was eating in, I would complain to the Management.
