Which restaraunt seems to hire you (or is the less likely to turn you down) most often? I wanted to start to some metal bending,one of my favorites, and more magic. Any input would ROCK!

There are books up the wazoo about restaurant work that help answer this question. If you don't want to do the work and investigate the reference works, then I suggest you try McDonald's

Also, if that 93 at the end of your username is the year you were born, give it a few years before trying to start.

Haha, but don't get discouraged Eli. Use that time to really master your techniques. If you stick with it until you can legally work in a restaurant (at least 15 - host/cashier, not server), that's 3 years, you really should be a professional at that point!!

I always got turned down when I was younger at restaurants. I'm 16 now and I have a great restaurant gig. Although I originally wanted one with magic, I am now doing 99% balloons. In otherwords, give it some time and it will work itself out.

The restaurant is for kids and familes; your disagreeing with me for the sake of disagreement now. The only magic I carry with is sponges and silk. I do mostly balloons, and the kids love it. It also helps me get booked for other kid parties. I don't do shows for adults, but if they want a balloon while I'm there, they can have one. The main reason anyone should do a restaurant is advertising, not the nightly money.

BULL Oney! For the past several years I have been doing restaurant magic full time and have supported my family very well on what I make from the restaurants. Yes I have parties and some company gigs but that is really just extra money over and above the restaurant income.

Your absolutly correct. There are people who do 7 restaurants a week and make it their living. Let me restate what I said. Because I am a children's entertainer who does a lot of birthday parties, I work at a restaurant to advertise myself. The nightly money is great, but I know myself (as well as many others) see the restaurant as an advertising medium. I mean, when push comes to shove, I don't care how good you are, there is only so much money you can make for your time at a restaurant. Now, restaurants pay more than regular jobs, so if you work a ton of restaurants, you can make a decent living.

What I'm trying to explain is, go try to find a restaurant potential clients would dine.
