How do you learn the Sponge Balls if there is no "Free Instructional" Video???? Did everybody that bought it, buy the "Sponge Balls Booklet??"

sponge balls are a very simple trick to pick up if you know some basic coin sleights you can figure it out their is no set pattern you can just do some basic sleights and you will slowly develope a routine for them,
if you dont know any coin sleights then check out the booklet that will give you a few routines and sleights.

You could just watch Criss Angel's last episode. Penn and Teller tell you how to do a pretty decent routine.

Take a look at Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic, it teaches you several of the key sleights involved in spongeball magic, as well as a complete routine. You should be able to find it at your local Barnes & Noble or Borders, or you can order it from Amazon.com.

Once you get comfortable with that material, you might look at the L&L Publishing DVD "Sponge Ball Magic" from their World's Greatest Magic by the World's Greatest Magicians series.

You don't need instructional videos to learn a trick. They may help, but no one needs them. Learn the old fashioned way, through the books, or someone teaching you.

I watched a buddy of mine do a sponge ball routine that I really enjoyed, and he told me it was in Wilson's book. I bought it, learned it, and have been modifiying it for the last 16 years. It never fails to get a huge reaction, and people ask me all the time to do it.

If there is no one available to help you learn the moves, the books are your best resource, and the videos should be a supplement to help you solidify your technique.

Anyway, to sponge balls. I believe you get a little instructional sheet with sponge balls. It will teach you a couple of tricks. And then from there, just expeirement.

Yes and it makes no difference if people saw those explanations. Remember: magic is NOT the trick you do, magic is the performance of the trick. Make any "trick" entertaining and it becomes an effect and you become a star.

When you go to a ring or assembly meeting and perform before the group everyone watching knows how you do the trick, yet you win awards because you entertain your fellow magicians.

I completely agree with you. I was just clarifying for others. I mean personally, I think Penn and Teller are great, even though they expose magic. Plus I figure, people forget anyway.

A really good DVD on sponge ball work is Duane Laflin's. ..Nice!

I'll recommend L&Ls new World's Greatest Magic: Sponge Balls video. Eugene Burger's advice alone is worth $20.
